Introduction

Description of the Training Rotation

Higher specialist training generally takes 3 years to complete. Doctors in Training will rotate to a minimum of 2 different hospitals during this time (usually three). Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust is the Major Trauma Centre for the region and all Doctors in Training will need to spend some time here during their rotation. Other hospitals included on the rotation are as follows: Torbay Hospital, Royal Cornwall Hospital, Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Musgrove Park Hospital (Taunton and Somerset) and North Devon District Hospital NHS Trust.  Information on each of the trusts can be found at the links below.

The TPD allocates the training rotations and will endeavour to accommodate requests and preferences whenever reasonably possible.
